As of 21 September 2023 Arena is one of the 3 part of pvp content available in the summoners war alongside Guild Wars and Live Arena.
Players can play arena battles by using invitations and each player has a pool of ten invitations.
By starting an arena match you will consume one invitation, invitations are like the energy players used in pve content, it refills with time, exactly 30 minutes are necessary to regain an invitation.
Players will attack other player’s defenses in order to get glory points and climb up on arena rankings.
Why do arena in Summoners War?
The main reason to do Arena is to farm Glory Points (gp)
through which you can buy many important things in the Glory shop.
Once a week a Devilmon can be bought (180 gp), which has to be the first thing to buy every week. With the gp in excess you can buy
Unknown (no limit per week, 12gp), Mystical (once per week 300gp), Fire, Wind, Water Scrolls (once per week per type 300gp), Angelmons (1 per day, 100gp) or buildings:
these buildings are an unique feature available in the guild shop and they provide buffs to your team that you can use in every content of the game.
Buildings are very important to have, but if you’re a new player focus in getting enough guild points to purchase one devilmon per week
and if you have spare some gp use them in scrolls: in early-mid game is important to start build your 4 and 5 natural star monsters repository.
In later stages of the game you should switch to a solid arena defense in order to climb the ranks:
by doing so you will be able to collect good rewards at the end of the week.
An amount of crystals will be sent to your gift rewards at the end of the arena week, set at 11 pm on Sundays.

Also, you will get a light and dark monster if you finish in Conqueror, Guardian or Legend Rank.

Rivals in Arena
Additionally players can fight against so called Rivals, which are NPCs available in Arena.
By consuming one invitation for each rival, players can enter the fights with them and if they defeat their opponnents they earn glory points and crystals.
This is a feature added to encourage new players to join the arena content in the game.
However, it is good to farm rivals battels even for late game players, since the reward is pretty useful and remember that once one rival is defeated
he cannot be challenged again until he respawns: a timer will indicate when he will be available again for battle.
Early game arena team
In the first stages of the game the arena offence team can be quite difficult to build,
since not many options are available, however you can stay in low ranks on purpose just to make sure you will encounter easier arena defense teams.
To do so, use one fodder monster in your Arena Defense, you will receive many attacks on your defense (hopefully losing all of them).
But if you wanna build a solid arena offense team, use your higher level monsters and with the best rune you have,
since at this level many players are in your same situation, you can prevail just by having a best runed monster.
Strategy in this stage of the game is not so relevant, it is better to focus on getting the right monsters,
that can be also helpful in other content and which you will use in later game.
Try to get farmable monsters, both from scenario or Good options to have in mind are in the following list (if you need more details on the monster click its own name to go to its complete profile):
- Bernard (Swift/Energy – speedy build)
- Sieq (Fatal/Energy – speedy build with focus on attack stats)
- Kahli (Fatal/Energy – full attack build)
- Ellena (Fatal/Energy – full attack build)
First Bernard attack bar boosts entire team, then Sieq buffs attack power and crit rate of all allies, then you have two nuker who can one shot pretty easily two targets with ignore defense damage.

- Sieq (Fatal/Energy – speedy build with focus on attack stats)
- Tagaros (Fatal/Focus –attack build with accuracy)
- Raoq (Fatal/Energy – full attack build)
Same as before: first Bernard attack bar boosts entire team, Sieq buffs attack power and crit rate of all allies, then you have a defense breaker on AoE which also deals great damage, then a cleaver like Raoq: if all enemies are on defense break, he can kill them all thanks to his passive.
