Review, runes and strategy

Chilling (Water Jack-o'-Lantern) is a good utility-attack monster in summoners War.

Chilling has a great passive-third skill: whenever he lands an attack on the enemy, Chilling steals a beneficial effect from the enemy. Moreover his speed increases according to the beneficial effects on him.

His first skill is a three hit plus reduce attack speed debuff, this means that his passive procs three times with his first skill.

Also, his second skill is an AoE attack speed and critical rate buff

Best rune set for Water Jack-o'-Lantern are Violent runes plus Revenge runes to make him proc as many times as possible his passive skill.

He is really good for Dragon B10 for his stealing beneficial effect passive ability (right cristal puts 3 turns immunity on boss) and Necropolis Dungeon for his built in first skill slow attack speed.

This pumpkin has a great utility in PvE and also in some PvP battles. Overall is a very good monster but his main drawback is that he can use two different ruen sets, and there´s no "all around" built that can be used unless someone want to give him their fastest violent runes.

Concrening rune builds, the main options are Swift and Violent. Swift is used mainly for GB10 and DB10 giving great results. Most people like to use SPD/HP/HP but I like to change one HP for ATK to improve the offensive performance. Giving him high speed, if possible over 200, he will both clean the Giant and Dragon debuffs plus slow the bosses very often. This is capital in the Dragon as you can focus on the main target ignoring the right tower as Chilling will take care of the inmunity debuff. So for Giants and Dragons, use the fatest build you can afford.

If you decide to go Violent, NB10 is the right place to use Chilling. The speed cap of the Lich will turn the Swift build useless so if you can go Violent/revenge you´ll have an outstanding support that can perfectly substitute Adrian and perform much better than the Elven Ranger.

Last is the PvP use of Chilling. This is situational, depending on specific enemy teams, but to give some clues, Chilling is outstanding to counter bot Velajuel and Rakan. He will clear the inmunity and place slow debuff, and that will be nearly a death sentence in a slow tank like the Chimera. I love to use my Swift Chilling vs full fire teams or teams that don´t have a specific wind nuker that can oneshot the pumpkin. Just think on how awfull are defenses with Velajuel and Rakan and how easy you can counter them with this unit given the right circumstances.

I´ve only used the swift built in PvP, although I guess the violent one will perfectly work if its a fast one.

Since I don't use Chilling in my NB10 team personally, would you happen to have tested if Chilling's passive goes through the speed cap? Kind of like how the speed buff let's you break the speed cap on boss? It would be something interesting to test.

agsparks, As far as I know, speed debuff is the only way to become faster than the boss. No speed buff or passive can break the 130 speed cap of the lich. Maybe I´m wrong, but i checked it with my guildies and they all agree that no buff or passive can let your units go over 130 SPD.
