Feng Yan (Wind Panda Warrior) is a great defense tank monster in Summoners War. Please check out our review and rate this monster!
Feng Yan has a defense break first skill, a second skill which makes him counterattack and all allies regenerate 15% HP each turn for two turns and a passive third skill that makes him do additional damage proportionate to his defense. Moreover this skill fills up 20% of his attack bar each time he is attacked.
Good runes for him are Violent set to help him reduce cooldown of his second skill (3 turn cooldown on max skill up), Guard runes for make him tankier and thanks to his passive damage increases as well and Nemesis runes to help him gain turn advantage faster and to compensate lack of speed since you may want to max his defense with runes and so you may want to use a rune with %defense instead of speed on second slot.
Feng Yan is great at Necropolis dungeon since he is a multi hitter and for farming because he tanks a lot, can conterattack and fills up his bar when attacked. He is also a strong Raid tank usable in frontline thanks to his defense and his first skill that defense breaks.
Wind Panda is great in PvP: in Arena defense, he is very good to use with good amount of HP (build him with enough HP to sustain at least one ignore defense attack by an attacking Lushen). Moreover Feng Yan is very good to use in Guild Wars also because he has a great guild content leaderskill which gives 44% defense to all allies. Since you don't want to have Feng Yan defense broke, we reccomend you to use Wind Panda alongside some immunizer and/or cleanser (think about Woosa, Chloe, Velajuel, Anavel to name a few).
Also, if you have a Chandra, you can use them in combo to attack some guild defenses or Siege battle bases: go against some defense that has at least one fire monster, bring only one wind monster (Feng Yan) and use Chandra's second skill on Feng Yan. When you also use Feng Yan's second skill you will have him counterattack the fire monster alongside with Chandra and you will deal a lot of damage thanks to the possible defense break landed by Wind Panda.
Of course for pvp purpose the best rune set for Feng Yan is Violent/Will: will runes are also good to use in the harder stages of the Tartarus'Labyrinth because the monsters are very fast and you don't want to be defense broke at the first turn. Also keep in mind that the guild his leaderskill works good in Labirinth too.

One of the TOP5 annoying defenders and maybe the hardest wind monster to kill. This unit has a second skill that can nearly turn him indestructible, very similat to Rakan´s one but with auto-heal instead of Atk buff. The Attack buff of Feng is not in S2 but in the insane passive skill than can make this defender deal amazing damage as it scales the damage with the main stat of the Panda, which is Defense. Also has a huge ATB increase every time the panda is hit, as an extended Nemesis effect wich is really annoying when fighting against him.
There are several ways to rune Feng. The most common ones are 2x%DEF + CrDam or 2x%DEF + %HP to avoid the Lushens.
So the real problem with Feng is "How to attack him". If you try to nuke him, he will counter every attack, break your defense and get ATB buffs that will lead him to get turns faster activating the 15% auto-heal. You can just strike him and he can just counter you to death while he stands unharmed. Annoying as fuck.
Ok, so lets try to strip him... well, right, but you still have to deal with the ATB buff, so Feng will activate the counter+heal very soon. Oh, Right!! Let´s put him in Oblivion!! Well... it might work for 2 turns and if you have a strong team and can focus on him that will work, but its not the best solution.
So, to be honest, this unit has too many advantages that he´s broken as fuck, but has a counter that is really effective and works 95% of the times: A "ignore DEF" nuker, and the best ones are a couple of nat3 monsters: Kahli (Fire High Elemental) and Bulldozzer (Fire Frankenstein). Dozzer neeeds a more complex setup than Kahli to work, but both can perfectly one-shot Feng Yan given the right circumstances.
So at the end, Feng will be as good as his comps can make him, but is one of the best and most dangerous nat5´s, and one of my particular nightmares specially in Guild Wars.
I just realised the 2xDeff & CD build recomended here and in Kains comment.
Dont do that. It weakens him. Either build 3xDEFF or 2xDeff & HP. Feng Yans passive doesnt Count towards critting. If he crits, only his S1 ATK based DMG will increase. Better ignore Crit/Crit Damage and build him tankier for more dmg and sustain
I've fought with some of those unfair pandas, and well, the way I kill them is by using brandia lol that panda is so annoying. So if you have brandia, try with her, her third skill's multiplier is amazing to use, just with def break and atk buff, she hits hard
Sure she does, but BULDOZER or KHALI are great options too, and both are easy to get&skill nat3´s
Just got him and I cant tell you how excited I am. With FRR coming next weekend, hes going to get fire bears def% runes and then some. Probably going 2xdef, 1xHP if I can get enough speed, otherwise spd/def/def and look for massive hp/def in subs.
